A collaborative project with Gwenaelle Rouger (piano), Sara Hibbert (visual artist) and myself that explores the subtle miasma our modern surveillance culture, placing both the piano soloist and the audience under observation. The unorthodox performance environment features multiple projections screens, an immersive octaphonic sound design and an audience who are seated so as to face each other as well as the stage. It is heavily influenced by the ideas of German theatre practitioner, Bertolt Brecht, in particular the concepts of defamiliarization of space and verfremdungseffekt (distancing or alienating the audience).
